 [Description] 

This product is a colorless transparent liquid.

 [Function and use]

This product can effectively dissolve functional corpus luteum plus pathological corpus luteum, and strengthen systolic and diastolic rhythms of uterine smooth muscles

It is commonly applied:

1. To cure failure to come into estrus due to persistent corpus luteum or corpus luteum cysts.

2. In estrus synchronization and estrus control 

3. In parturition control such as odinopoeia and abortion.

4. In postpartum care, preventing and curing puerperal endometritis, and promoting ovarian and uterus recovery

[Usage and Dosage]

Direct injection.

I. Application in Cattle Reproduction

1. Estrus synchronization: there are two methods as follows: 

a. Single-injection method. 40-70% of the female cattle will come into estrus 3 to 5 days after intramuscular injection of 0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) on any day during their estrus cycle. It has no effect on new corpus luteum (0-4 days after cow come into estrus), so this treatment method will lead to a relatively lower rate of estrus synchronization. 

b. Double-injection method. Breeding is not implemented for estrous cattle after the first injection of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu), and the dosing shall be repeated once after an interval of 11-12 days. 3 to 5 days later, 40-70% of the treated female cattle will come into estrus. Either method can make the estrous pregnancy rate reach over 50%.

2. Timed Artificial Insemination for cows: Method 1: the cows should be treated with 100μg of Shuniu GnRH first, injected 0.2-0.3mg of Cloprostenol Sodium after 7 days, and then injected 100μg of Shuniu GnRH 48 hours later. Estruses of the cows don’t need to be observed, they can just be implemented breeding 18-20 hours after the second injection of Shuniu GnRH. Method 2: the cows should be injected Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) twice before implementing Method 1 with an interval of 14 days, 0.2-0.3mg for each; 12 days after the second injection of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu), the cows are treated with Method 1. This process can start 35-40 days after the delivery of the cows, and breeding can be implemented 70-75 days after delivery. The pregnancy rate is higher than that of Method 1.

3. Estrus induction: It has special effects on non-pregnancy of female cattle due to functional corpus luteum, persistent corpus luteum and corpus luteum cysts. Intrauterine input of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) or intramuscular injection of 0.2mg should be implemented within 5-14 days of the cycle.

4. Treatment of persistent corpus luteum and corpus luteum cysts: intramuscular injection of 0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu); half of the dose for intrauterine injection.

5. Treatment of uterine diseases (subinvolution of uterus due to retained fetal membranes, prolonged lochia, pyometra, uterine hydrops, and endometritis of cattle): intramuscular injection of 0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu); half of the dose for intrauterine injection. If the first treatment is not ideal, the second injection can be implemented 10-14 days later. When cooperatively used with Ceftiofur Sodium (Chudefu), it can inhibit and kill pathogens, exerting better effect. After curing, breeding only can be implemented in the second estrus.

6. Promoting the recovery of ovary and uterus after delivery and shortening the calving interval: intramuscular injection of 0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) within 2-5 days after delivery; once a day for 2-3 consecutive days. It can promote the recovery of ovary and uterus after delivery, and prevent endometritis. 

7. Shortening postpartum non-pregnant period: intramuscular injection of 0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) about 30 days after delivery can shorten the cattle’s first estrus after deliver and improve the pregnancy rate. Intramuscular injection of 100μg of Shuniu (GnRH) on the 40th day after delivery, intramuscular injection of 0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) on the 47th day, and intramuscular injection of 100μg of Shuniu (GnRH) on the 49th day can improve the pregnancy rate within 90 days obviously.

8. Odinopoeia and abortion: intramuscular injection of 0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) for female cattle with abnormal pregnancy (stillbirth, weak fetuses, or mismatch). Some cows need continuous injections for a few days until miscarriage. It has a better effect on induced labor when cooperatively used with estradiol benzoate and oxytocin during mid and late pregnancy.

II. Application in Porcine Reproduction

1. Induced parturition (daytime parturition): intramuscular injection of 0.1-0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) at 8 a.m. on the 112th or 113th day of pregnancy. If the birth canal is not open sufficiently 22 hours later, 8mg of estradiol benzoate can be used cooperatively, and then injection of 20-50 units of oxytocin for each sow will achieve better effect.  

2. Treatment of postpartum agalactia and hypogalactia: intramuscular injection of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) for 3 consecutive days after delivery.

3. Postpartum recovery: After parturition, uterus contains lots of residual lochia due to delivery. The recovery speed of uterus directly affects postpartum estrus of sows, and the recovery of uterus has direct relationship with that of ovarian function. Intramuscular injection of 40-50 units of oxytocin and 0.5g of Chudefu (Ceftiofur Sodium) should be implemented after delivery; intramuscular injection of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) on the second day after delivery and another injection of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) should be implemented about a week later.

4. Treatment of endometritis, pyometra, and uterine hydrops: intramuscular injection of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) should be applied immediately on detection of the diseases. Uterine curettage and intrauterine administration of drugs can be implemented cooperatively. Reexamination shall be taken 2 days later, and it depends on the situation whether to use drugs. 

5. Overdue odinopoeia: intramuscular injection of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) for pregnant sows 114 days overdue.

6. Treatment of retained fetal membranes: intramuscular injection of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) should be applied immediately on detection of the situation, and another injection of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) should be implemented with an interval of 12 hours. If there is still no afterbirth coming out 24 hours later, the dose shall be repeated once.

7. Treatment of stillbirth, weak fetuses and abortion: intramuscular injection of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) should be applied immediately on detection of the situation, and another injection of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) should be implemented with an interval of 12 hours. If no abortion happens, the dose shall be repeated once.

8. Treatment of anoestrus for weaning sows and replacement sows: intramuscular injection of 0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) for sows 5-7 days after weaning; 3-5 days later, retroauricular subcutaneous injection or intramuscular injection of a bottle of Tongfasu (PMSG and HCG for Injection) or 1000 units of Pregnant Mare Serum Gonadotropin shall be implemented.

III. Application in Sheep Reproduction

Estrus synchronization: single-injection method; intramuscular injection of 0.05-0.1mg of Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu); half of the dose for intrauterine injection. Double-injection method; the dosing shall be repeated once after the first administration with an interval of 11-12 days (resulting in higher estrus rate and pregnancy rate). The first timed artificial insemination shall be implemented 48 hours after the treatment, and the second artificial insemination shall be implemented 72-96 hours after the treatment.

[Caution]

1. Be very careful during operation since this product is easy to be absorbed by the skin; it must be washed off immediately if it is accidentally splashed on the skin. 

2. Fertile women and people with asthma shall be prudent during operation. 

3. Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu) only has a specific luteolytic effect on functional corpus luteum, so it must be applied according to indications.

4. Before using Cloprostenol Sodium (Duobaosu), pregnancy check must be conducted to ensure non-pregnancy; otherwise, it will cause an abortion.
